Dedicated and involved legal geeks; this is how the LegalTeams team can best be described.

LegalTeams was founded by three experts with a strong background in the legal services industry. All three have a completely different education, but share the same mission: they step up to the challenge to deal with complex legal business projects ensuring success by a laser sharp focus on agreed goals, planning and budget as an independent delegate of the client. Meet Edo, Eva and Marjan.

Edo Smid

Edo works at the intersection of property, corporate law and insolvency. He has more than 30 years of practical experience with national and international clients. As a lawyer and consultant, he has worked with corporate finance experts and successfully supervised numerous large property projects and private equity investment. Edo recognises the rise of Legal Project Management in Anglo-Saxon practice and with his broad experience, he is an ideal sparring partner for a result-oriented client. He was a founder of the Amsterdam law firm Lexence and Hurdle Investments.

Eva Peeters

Eva has worked as a lawyer and office director of a medium-sized commercial (niche) law firm for over 15 years. She is a coach who uses her sophistication to give direction to people and organisations and has assisted many multidisciplinary teams. Eva speaks the language of legal professionals and has experience as a Legal Project Manager in, among other things, class action cases. In 2017, she and Marjan started L-IME, a consultancy for ICT and Innovation in the legal profession.

Marjan Hermkes

Marjan has 20 years of experience in the legal profession as an ICT & innovation specialist and has been successfully active as a managing director, project manager and business change manager in the Netherlands and abroad. Marjan has worked on various projects optimising business processes in the professional services industry, and is in charge of L-IME with Eva. She is ambassador in the Netherlands of the European Legal Tech Association and won the Women in Legal Tech Award in 2020.
